Online Account Creation – Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to create a new online account?
Thanks to feedback from our members, we’re upgrading our entire digital member experience. That includes improving and simplifying your login process. This new procedure does mean that the old system has been retired and that’s what makes it necessary for you to create a new account.

How do I set up a new online account?
Visit members.carolinas.aaa.com, then:

  • Enter your name and membership number as it appears on your membership card. If you aren’t yet a member, you can create a limited-access online account by simply entering your name with no membership number.
  • Answer the security question to verify your membership.
  • You will then receive an email confirmation and activation request. Click the link provided to activate your online account.

What information do I need to set up a new online account?
All you’ll need is your email address, your name (as it appears on your AAA membership card) and your membership number. Make sure to use a currently active email address so you’ll be able to receive the confirmation email.

Will this affect the AAA app?
Yes, if you use the AAA App, you will need to log back in with your new online account.

Does it cost anything?
The new online account is completely free, just like the old one. In coming months, it will feature some helpful new benefits—all of them will be completely free to members.

What if I don’t want to create a new online account?
Without a new account, you won’t be able to use the AAA App and other online features of your membership. You will continue to be a full member of AAA Carolinas and will be able to request emergency roadside assistance by phone or process your membership renewal by mail or by phone. And, of course, you’re always welcome in any of our branch locations if you’d prefer in-person support.

Does each member on a membership need their own online account?
This is not necessary but all members on the membership are welcome to create an online account.
