CHARLOTTE, N.C. (November 7, 2019) – BikeWalk NC – the statewide nonprofit that advocates on behalf of people who walk and bike in North Carolina, will host its 8th annual NC BikeWalk Summit on November 8 and 9 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and AAA Carolinas will be a sponsor of the event. “BikeWalk NC has been instrumental in pushing for safer walking and bicycling throughout the state of North Carolina,” said Tiffany Wright, AAA Carolinas spokesperson. “We are proud to work alongside this organization as it pioneers plans for a more inviting infrastructure for walkers and bikers alike.” The NC BikeWalk Summit fosters collaboration between North Carolina’s various champions of safer walking and bicycling experiences. The Summit educates and informs while offering an exchange place for ideas among planners, engineers, advocates, government staff and policy leaders to promote bicycling and waling as clean, healthy and valid forms of transportation and as economic drivers. It also works to assist North Carolina in becoming a premier pedestrian and bicycle-friendly state. This year, Winston-Salem was chosen as the summit location to showcase the good work the city has done to accommodate multimodal forms of transportation. Investments have recently been made to improve and expand biking and walking infrastructure and plans are currently being drawn up to accompany the revamping of 1-40 Business through the town’s center. AAA Carolinas encourages anyone interested in furthering bike safety across North Carolina to attend the Summit. About BikeWalk North Carolina |
