AAA FIRST TO OFFER INLAND FLOODING COVERAGE IN THE CAROLINAS ON HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE POLICIES
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 26, 2018) -AAA Carolinas Insurance has launched a new ground-breaking Inland Flooding protection for policy holders .AAA Carolinas becomes the first insurance carrier in the country to offer this coverage on a homeowner’s policy.
“Following the flooding disasters we saw last fall in vulnerable parts of the country and the devastating effects we felt at home in the Carolinas after Hurricane Matthew, we wanted to give homeowners an option to have flooding covered,” said AAA Carolinas Senior Vice President of Insurance Services Jim McCafferty. “The Inland Flood Coverage is a protection you hope you will never need, but are relieved you have it when disaster strikes.”
The Inland Flood Coverage is one of three new enhancements offered by AAA Carolinas Insurance. Home Systems Protection and Service Line Coverage are two more options that can also be added to any homeowner’s policy.
Descriptions of the new coverage options are outlined below:

| Inland Flood Coverage is affordable protection for common flood exposures in low to moderate flood risk areas in the event of unexpected flooding. Uniquely offered by AAA Insurance, this is the only way to have flooding covered, to some degree, on your homeowners’ policy. Flood coverage is usually excluded, and coverage must be obtained through the National Flood Insurance Program. Now you can get coverage for flood in inland areas for as low as about $21 a year. |
| Home Systems Protection |
| Home Systems Protection provides protection to the systems and appliances in your home such as HVACs, refrigerators, washers/dryers, wells/sump pumps and pools/spa equipment.
