Have your AAA Insurance Agent assist you with transferring your automobile insurance to North Carolina. This will allow you to obtain a
NC Driver’s License (proof of liability insurance is a required document when getting a NC Driver’s License) and register your vehicle
in the state which you reside.
All new residents of North Carolina who plan to operate a motor vehicle in this state must obtain a driver’s license within 60
days of establishing a permanent residence.
AAA Insurance will also assist you with directions to your closest NC DMV, as well as directions to the License Plate Agency, to have your vehicle
registered.
We would recommend visiting NCDOT for further required documentation
